Reliabilty Projects

  • Southern Reinforcement Project
    Southern Reinforcement Project

    The Southern Reinforcement Project will add overhead and underground transmission circuits in South Jersey. The project will add two new 230kV overhead transmission circuits and three new 230kV underground circuits. The upgrade will deliver increased electric capacity required by New Jersey business and residents, increase transfer capability, provide better power quality, and reduce transmission system congestion.

    This project will add approximately 12 miles of overhead transmission.

  • Northeast Grid Reliability Project
    Northeast Grid Reliability Project

    The Northeast Grid Reliability Project will upgrade 138,000-volt (138kv) to 230,000-volt (230kV) on existing overhead transmission lines and will add a 230kV underground transmission circuit throughout Northern New Jersey. The upgrade will deliver increased electric capacity required by New Jersey business and residents, increase transfer capability, provide better power quality, and reduce transmission system congestion.

    The project will upgrade 50 miles of overhead transmission from the Hudson Switching Station in Jersey City to the Roseland Switching Station in Roseland.

    Susquehanna-Roseland

    Construction Schedule

    The Susquehanna-Roseland Electric Reliability Project is a 500,000 volt transmission line from the Berwick area in Pennsylvania to PSE&Gā€™s substation in Roseland, New Jersey. PSE&G is building the New Jersey portion of the line, while PPL Electric Utilities, based in Allentown, PA, will build the Pennsylvania portion.

  • North Central Reliability Project
    North Central Reliability Project

    The North Central Reliability Project will upgrade existing transmission lines and substations from 138,000-volt (138kV) power to 230,000-volt (230kV) power in the northern and central regions of the state. The upgrade will meet current and future electricity demands by New Jersey businesses and residents, provide better power quality, and reduce transmission system congestion in the region.
